Two Arkansas football players arrested after alleged altercation with police

Two Arkansas football players were arrested early Sunday morning after an alleged altercation with police.

Anthony Brown and Myles Slusher face disorderly conduct charges stemming from the incident.

In a report that was obtained by TMZ, the Fayetteville Police Dept. said that officers on foot patrol instructed Brown not to stand in the street outside a pub about a mile from campus.

While Brown initially complied with the instructions, officers said when they circled back they found him “intentionally” back standing on the street.

“I walked to Brown and grabbed his sleeve of his right arm,” the police officer said. “I walked with Brown to the sideway.”

At this point, Brown allegedly became physical, pushing an officer and subsequently getting thrown to the ground in response.

“Brown engaged in fighting behavior,” the officer said in the incident report, “congregated with two or more other people in a public place refusing to comply with a lawful order to disperse, and obstructed vehicular traffic in a public place.”

At this point, Slusher tried to pull an arresting officer off Brown, and was also arrested.

Brown and Slusher are both defensive backs; Brown is a freshman and Slusher a junior.

They are both suspended for at least this Saturday’s game versus LSU; currently, the Razorbacks are three-point home underdogs, according to BetMGM.

“It’s unfortunate,” Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman said. “It’s not acceptable, but part of our job is to teach these kids. Hopefully, we’ll get that done.”

This past Saturday, Arkansas lost at home to Liberty, 21-19.
