I tried the new Shark Wandvac Self-Empty System, and it blew me away

Okay, everyone. I usually don’t start off a review this way, but I just have to say it. The Shark Wandvac Self-Empty System is it. It’s sleek, trendy, lightweight, and empties itself. Yes, we said empties itself.

But follow me into my New York studio apartment to get the lowdown on this deep-cleaning cordless vac that self-cleans. This way, you can eliminate the annoying dirty work that comes with emptying your regular vacuum and learn about everything you need to know before you make the purchase.

What is the Shark Wandvac Self-Empty System?

If you’re asking, “What the heck is this thing?” you’re not alone.

The Shark Wandvac Self-Empty System is the brand’s first cordless stick vac with self-empty technology. It’s ideal for small spaces like mine (such as apartments, bathrooms, or dorms) but is powerful enough to tackle messes that pop up throughout the day anywhere in your home.

Not only is it designed to clean your entire home, but it’s also sleek enough to leave it where it will be most convenient to grab when you need it. We’d go as far as to say that with its stylish color, design, and small footprint, you might even want to show it off.

Just because it’s trendy and sleek doesn’t mean it’s not super powerful. In fact, the Shark vac deep cleans hard floors and carpets to rid of pesky dust and dirt. Best of all, it comes fully loaded with additional tools to suck away pet hair and get into hard-to-reach spaces.

The best part is the self-emptying system, though.

After you use the chic vacuum, simply wheel it back to the self-emptying system. Within seconds, the vacuum whooshes away the accumulated debris while a HEPA filtration and anti-allergen complete seal traps 99.97% of dust and allergens inside the base. Once complete, the vacuum will begin charging for your next clean-up.

It sounded too good to be true, so you know I had to try it for myself.

Shark Wandvac Self-Empty System Review

Upon delivery, I was worried the vacuum would take a while to set up — but I was proven wrong.

The easy-to-use vacuum came in a few parts and took about 10 minutes to put together. Not to mention, the lightweight design weighs about 5 pounds which made assembly pretty easy. Once done, I took a step back and admired the gorgeous white and rose gold design, and I must say, it really is beautiful. But how did the vacuum perform? That was my next question.

I charged up the vac and got to work.

First, I tried the Shark vac on my carpets, and man did it easily pick up loose items. It was powerful, and I was blown away. What really stood out about the design with the unique PowerFins brushroll. Unlike typical vacuum cleaner heads that have traditional brushrolls, the PowerFin is actually a series of thin, flexible silicone fins that are designed to not leave any dust or pet hair behind.

Next up, I took the vacuum to my bathroom floors and stepped it up a notch by seeing just how compact it was. To my surprise, it wicked away loose cat litter and even fit in the tiny space between my toilet and the wall.

But what about the additional tools the Wandvac comes with? Well, those are great too.

I used the multi-pet tool to clean up my couch from loose kitty fur and the duster crevice tool to clean dust out of hard-to-reach places.

Aside from my super clean studio apartment, the star of the show was the self-emptying base.

I wheeled my vac over to the cute base and watched all of the gunk the Shark had picked up disappear. There were no dust clouds, and no dirty work was required.

The Final Verdict

The Shark Wandvac Self-Empty System really is as great as it seems. It’s lightweight and powerful, easily moveable, features a self-cleaning brush roll, and reduces emptying dust exposure by up to 100x compared to traditional vacuums.

Additionally, the vac includes all of the tools needed to clean away pet hair and reach tight spaces, which I’m obsessed with.

The Shark vacuum is also beyond easy to charge, so it’s always ready to grab and go when I need it, making it great for quickly tackling messes that arise throughout the day.

Not to be forgotten, it’s less than half the price of other self-emptying cordless stick competitors, so who wouldn’t want to save some cash?

The bottom line is, grab this Shark Wandvac ASAP!
