Dramatic body camera footage shows a “heroic” Arizona police officer stopping a woman who pulled a gun outside a school during a custody dispute.
The Phoenix Police Department released video of the Sept. 22 incident on Monday, hailing the responding cop as a hero for thwarting a possible shooting.
The tense situation unfolded at Mountain View School, where cops said 29-year-old Desira Featchurs arrived shortly before 2:40 p.m. to stop a student believed to be her child from entering a vehicle that was picking him up.
In the brief recording, the child is seen getting into a white pickup truck parked outside the school when Featchurs storms out of the building.
“He wanted to get in. He’s getting in,” the police officer says, referring to the child.
With the words “you think I’m f—ing playing,” Featchurs reaches into her purse and pulls out a black handgun — which she points in the general direction of the truck.
A moment later, the officer grabs Featchurs in what the department hailed as a “heroic” action.
Featchurs was arrested on charges of endangerment and carrying a weapon on school grounds, reported Fox 10 Phoenix.
Court records reviewed by The Post indicate that she has a criminal history in Arizona that includes charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct stemming from a 2011 incident.
