Kentucky student Sophia Rosing going to rehab following video of racist assault

The University of Kentucky student charged with attacking a black student while hurling racial slurs at her will withdraw from the school and enter rehab, her attorney told NBC.

Apparently intoxicated senior Sophia Rosing, 22, was caught on video striking freshman dorm desk staffer Kylah Spring early Sunday and repeatedly calling her the n-word during the ugly incident.

“She is going to withdraw from the university today or tomorrow,” lawyer Fred Peters told NBC Tuesday. “She’s a very, very embarrassed and humiliated young lady.”

Rosing also attempted to kick another student, who appeared to be black, as she attempted to help Spring subdue the unruly co-ed.

“[She started] saying things like ‘Do my chores,’ ‘It’s not my fault that you’re black,’ ‘It’s not my fault that you’re ugly,’ and at this point she’s like singing the n-word,” Spring said in a TikTok video after the confrontation.

The 22-year-old was fired from her role as a campus influencer with the department store Dillard’s.

Peters told the network Rosing will enroll in a “sensitivity” program to help her “heal through this situation.”

“She’s going to get help. That’s all I can say.”

The university declined to comment about Rosing’s purported exit from campus.

Rosing’s rampage continued even after police were called to the scene around 4 a.m., as she kicked and bit an arresting cop.

Rosing, who advised officers she was wealthy and accustomed to “special treatment,” was held on $10,000 bond before being released Monday night.

Student worker Kylah Spring was attacked and called slurs by Rosing after checking on her.

She pleaded not guilty to assault, assault on a police officer and disorderly conduct raps.

School officials said they’ve launched a disciplinary probe into the incident, and ripped Rosing’s behavior in an emailed address to students.

Spring spoke at a student protest Monday, telling an angry crowd she wouldn’t let Rosing’s alleged attack “break my spirit.”

Other students demanded immediate punishments for Rosing in the wake of the viral video.

Peters said Rosing’s family told him that the outburst was uncharacteristic and that she had never previously acted in a similar way.

Rosing, who already lost her job as a “campus influencer” for Dillard’s department store, is due back in court on November 15.
