United flight attendant sent to hospital after altercation with angry passenger

A United Airlines flight attendant was sent to the hospital following an altercation with an angry, shouting passenger on a flight to Chicago Sunday morning.

A woman holding a small child was shown screaming and being told to “step back” by an attendant aboard a flight from San Francisco International Airport to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport in a video posted to Twitter.

“Where is it?” the woman yelled out after screaming in the plane’s aisle, the video captured and uploaded by Peter Kondelis shows.

“Ma’am, we are landing,” a female flight attendant told her.

Then the situation turned frantic.

“Sarah, step back,” the flight attendant could be heard telling the woman repeatedly, with more urgency in her voice each time.

Another flight attendant ran down the aisle to aid her colleague, the video shows before ending.

Chicago police said they were called for “a disturbance” that happened onboard Flight 476 and responded to its gate at O’Hare Airport at about 6 a.m.

Three people — including a flight attendant — were taken to Resurrection Hospital for observation, police and United Airlines said.

“A disruptive customer on a flight from San Francisco to Chicago was removed by law enforcement upon landing on Sunday, and one member of the flight attendant crew was taken to a hospital for evaluation,” a spokesperson for United Airlines said in a statement to The Post. “We’re grateful to our crew for handling this difficult situation with professionalism and for putting the safety of our team and our customers first.”

It’s unclear why the three people were taken to the hospital, but no serious injuries were reported, according to United.

The FBI is also investigating the altercation.
