Jackson Mahomes appears in court on sexual battery charges following arrest

Patrick Mahomes’ brother Jackson was released from custody Wednesday afternoon following his arrest for aggravated sexual battery.

He made his $100,000 bond after he appeared briefly in Johnson County District Court in Texas, according to the Kansas City Star.

The 22-year-old Mahomes was arrested earlier in the day and booked around 7:45 a.m. following a warrant being issued stemming from an incident at a Kansas restaurant in February.

Mahomes was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery along with one count of misdemeanor battery, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

A polarizing social media personality, Mahomes was accused of sexually and physically assaulting a 40-year-old woman who owns Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kan.

The woman, who has only been identified by her initials, alleged that an intoxicated Mahomes forcibly tried to touch and kiss her multiple times without her consent on Feb. 25, and shoved a male waiter working at the restaurant.

The incident was captured on the restaurant’s surveillance camera and subsequently shared widely on social media.

The video shows a man grabbing a woman’s face and kissing her while standing near a desk in what appears to be an office in the restaurant.

The woman can be seen wiping her mouth as Mahomes grabs her again multiple times near her throat.

“He forcibly kissed me out of nowhere,” the woman told the TMZ at the time.

Police have been investigating the incident since March.

Mahomes’ appearance in court on Wednesday was extremely brief, lasting about a minute and was streamed on Zoom, according to the Kansas City Star.

His next court date was set for May 11.

Mahomes is reportedly not allowed to consume alcohol or use firearms, illegal drugs or controlled substances and will be subject to drug testing as part of his condition of his bond.

He also cannot comment on the case publicly nor the accuser and her restaurant.

An attorney for Mahomes had previously claimed he did not anything wrong.

“Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser including the statements of several witnesses,” Brandan Davies, Mahomes’ attorney, said in a statement in early March. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”

Mahomes attended Super Bowl 2023 with his family in Glendale, Ariz. just two weeks prior to the incident.

His brother Patrick won his second Super Bowl as the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35.
