Customer goes on violent rampage over taco order at DC Chipotle

A customer in a Washington, DC, Chipotle was allegedly so outraged that his tacos were not being made fast enough that he went on a violent rampage, throwing ingredients, display items and even registers at the employee preparing his food.

The female worker told Fox 5 that the man became violent after she caught him allegedly trying to snatch his tacos from behind the counter.

“He tried to steal them, and he didn’t get away with it because I threw them in the trash. And then he just got mad after that,” said the worker, who did not wish to be identified.

Video obtained by Fox 5 shows the man reaching over the counter glass and trying to get his box of food as the employee was making it. When she sees what the customer is doing, she tosses his food in a trash can behind her.

The man, dressed in a white shirt and black beanie with a green backpack, then begins hurling items at the worker. He threw plastic containers, a napkins dispenser, the register display and registers at her.

The employee can be seen seen holding up her arms to block her face before walking through a door to the back of the restaurant.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the incident.

“A lot of crazy stuff happens at this Chipotle, but not that,” the employee said.

DC’s Metropolitan Police said officers who responded to the restaurant were told that the man became “irate” because he felt his food wasn’t being made fast enough, according to a police report obtained by Fox Business.

The man left the scene on a rental scooter, according to the report.
