The 58 most interesting people to watch around Super Bowl 2024

The Super Bowl is the largest single entertainment or sporting event in America. And the people of interest surrounding the game aren’t confined to just the field. From players and coaches to broadcasters and entertainers and more, the Super Bowl features plenty of personalities to grab your attention. Here are The Post’s top 58 people to watch around Super Bowl 2024:

Brightest of stars

Taylor Swift

Who? If you don’t know who she is, where have you been? The pop megastar has taken the NFL world by storm since she started dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and she is expected to be in attendance in Las Vegas, traveling from a concert performance in Japan to get there.

Chiefs players

Patrick Mahomes

There’s few accomplishments the superstar quarterback lacks in his already historic career, but Mahomes has yet to win back-to-back Super Bowls. His legend can grow even further by checking that off the list Sunday.

Travis Kelce

If you don’t know the stud tight end by now, you’ve been living under a rock. Mahomes’ top partner-in-crime, Kelce’s popularity has skyrocketed since he began dating pop megastar Taylor Swift.

Isiah Pacheco

A former seventh-round pick out of Rutgers and New Jersey native, the bulldozing running back is now in his second season with the team and has solidified his role as the team’s not option in the ground game.

Rashee Rice

The rookie receiver — drafted in the second round — has been a welcomed exception to the Chiefs’ receiving corps, which otherwise struggled mightily this season. Rice hauled in 49 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season, and has added 20 receptions for 223 yards and one touchdown in the playoffs.

Chris Jones

The alpha dog on the Chiefs defense, Jones has long established himself as one of the best pass-rushers and run-stuffers in the NFL. He was named to the All-Pro First Team this year.

Nick Bolton

The linebacker acts as the fulcrum in the middle of the Chiefs defense, racking up tackle after tackle in his third year with the team.

L’Jarius Sneed

Half of the Chiefs’ strong cornerback tandem, Sneed will be pivotal in slowing down the 49ers’ daunting receiver group. He allowed just a 56.2 passer rating in the regular season this year when targeted, according to Pro Football Reference.

Trent McDuffie

A first-round pick (No. 21) out of Washington, McDuffie emerged as a starter last year as a rookie and is back again as the other half of the team’s cornerback tandem with Sneed. He was named to the All-Pro First Team this year.

George Karlaftis

Though Jones gets most of the Chiefs’ pass-rushing plaudits, Karlaftis has become a force on the other side of the defensive line. In his second year with the team after being drafted No. 30-overall, Karlaftis has 13 combined sacks between the regular seasons and playoffs this year.

Harrison Butker

The Chiefs’ trusted veteran kicker has been with the team through their entire rise as a dynasty, in his seventh season with Kansas City. He drilled 94.3 percent of his field goals this year, a career-high.

Justin Reid

The Chiefs signed the safety to a three-year, $31.5 million deal ahead of last season to replace Tyrann Mathieu, and he has done so admirably in his two seasons with the team.

49ers players

Brock Purdy

The author of one of the NFL’s best stories in recent years, last year’s “Mr. Irrelevant” as the last pick of the 2022 draft is now, though with ample contention, one of the best quarterbacks in the league. He owns a 21-5 record as the 49ers’ starter the past two years.

Christian McCaffrey

Highly paid and star running backs are a dying breed in the NFL, but McCaffrey is one of the last to break the mold. In his second season with the 49ers, after arriving via a midseason trade last year, McCaffrey, who is engaged to model Olivia Culpo, was named to the All-Pro First Team this year after recording 1,459 rushing yards, 2,023 total yards from scrimmage and 21 total touchdowns in the regular season, all of which led the NFL.

George Kittle

Kelce isn’t the only standout tight end in the game, as Kittle has established himself as one of the NFL’s best and a critical part of the 49ers’ offense. A terrific blocker in addition to his pass-catching duties, Kittle recorded 1,020 receiving yards and six touchdowns in the regular season, and has added 108 more yards and another touchdown in the playoffs.

Deebo Samuel

Never one to shy away from smack talk, the receiver is utilized in myriad different ways in the 49ers offense. One of Purdy’s favorite targets, don’t be surprised if Samuel receives a few carries out of the backfield as well.

Brandon Aiyuk

The 49ers’ top receiver, Aiyuk enjoyed a career year, catching 75 passes for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns in the regular season before bringing in six more catches for 100 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs.

Trent Williams

An ageless wonder, the 35-year-old left tackle has been named to the All-Pro First Team each of the past three seasons. He was Pro Football Focus’ second-highest graded tackle this year with a 91.7 overall grade. He was notably not on the team for their Super Bowl 2020 clash against the Chiefs.

Kyle Juszczyk

Another outlier at a position whose value has disappeared across the league, the fullback paves the way ahead of McCaffrey and is pivotal in the 49ers’ blocking schemes.

Nick Bosa

A terrifying edge-rusher, Bosa has been amongst the NFL’s elite since he was drafted No. 2-overall in 2019. He had somewhat of a down season, recording 10.5 sacks in the regular season after tallying 18.5 last year, but he does already have two this postseason.

Fred Warner

The linebacker has long been a staple in the middle of the 49ers’ defense, in his sixth season with the team. He’s been named to the All-Pro First Team the past two years.

Dre Greenlaw

A tackling machine, the linebacker forms an excellent tandem with Warner. In his fifth season with the 49ers, he speaks openly about formerly being a foster child and his unlikely journey to this point.

Javon Hargrave

The defensive lineman, who signed a four-year, $84 million deal to join the 49ers this past offseason, will have revenge on his mind. He was a key piece on the Eagles, who fell to the Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl. Now, Hargrave gets another crack at Kansas City.

Charvarious Ward

Fans of both teams should know the outspoken cornerback well, in his second season with the 49ers after spending his first four with the Chiefs — and winning a Super Bowl when the two teams clashed four years ago. He was named to the All-Pro Second Team this year.

Jake Moody

Wouldn’t it be something if the Super Bowl came down to a rookie kicker? The 49ers used significant capital — a third-round pick (No. 99) — on Moody, who played at Michigan. He had an up-and-down rookie year, hitting 84 percent of his field goals in the regular season, and he has already missed twice in the postseason.

Coaches

Andy Reid

Rapidly climbing the hierarchy of best NFL coaches ever, the Chiefs’ head coach will be looking to capture his third Super Bowl title. He’s led the Chiefs the past 11 years, and rumors have cropped up suggesting he could retire on top if the Chiefs win.

Steve Spagnuolo

Often lost in the background with so many big names around him, the Chiefs defensive coordinator has been one of the most instrumental members of the team’s dynasty and has cemented himself as one of the best coordinators ever. The former architect of the 2007 Giants’ Super Bowl-winning defense, “Spags” has helped turn the Chiefs defense from a weakness to a strength and has won two more Super Bowls with Kansas City. Now, he looks to claim his fourth.

Kyle Shanahan

The 49ers head coach is widely considered one of the best in the league, but a Super Bowl title remains as a glaring absence on his résumé. A lauded offensive mind, he surely will remember the decisions he made four years ago, when the 49ers blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter when the two teams clashed in Super Bowl LIV.

Steve Wilks

The well-respected 49ers defensive coordinator oversees one of the league’s best units. He’s in his first season in the role after a 12-game stint last year as the Panthers’ interim head coach.

Broadcasters

Tony Romo

Few have a neutral opinion on the former Cowboys quarterback and CBS’ lead color commentator, as most either love or despise him. One thing is for sure: His comments will be hard to miss throughout the broadcast.

Jim Nantz

CBS’ top NFL play-by-player, Nantz will call his seventh Super Bowl. He bid farewell to the NCAA Tournament last year but is still going strong calling the NFL.

Tracy Wolfson

Carrying high esteem in the industry, Wolfson will be one of CBS’ sideline reporters. She’s been the network’s top NFL sideline reporter since 2014 and will be making her fourth Super Bowl appearance.

Evan Washburn

Washburn will serve as CBS’ other sideline reporter. He is also making his fourth Super Bowl appearance.

Gene Steratore

After spending 15 years as an NFL game official, Steratore is now CBS’ top rules expert. If there are any referee controversies, expect Steratore to try and make sense of it.

Jay Feely

The former NFL kicker is now an NFL analyst for CBS and will be featured throughout the broadcast.

WAGS/family members

Jason Kelce

Travis’ brother will go down as one of the best centers ever, and he just completed his 13th season with the Eagles. He’s reportedly retiring, though he claims he’s yet to make his decision. Will he take off his shirt again?

Donna Kelce

Travis and Jason’s mom has become a fan favorite. She has regularly watched her sons from suites throughout the season and can be seen dancing to stadium music.

Kylie Kelce

Brittany Mahomes

Patrick’s wife has been with the quarterback since the two began dating in high school. Outspoken, she can often be found enjoying over-the-top celebrations in her suite.

Jackson Mahomes

Patrick’s controversial brother faced legal battles in the past year. He was arrested in May stemming from a February incident and received three felony charges of aggravated sexual battery after being accused of forcibly kissing the female owner of a Kansas City-area bar. Though the incident was caught on security cameras, the charges were dropped.

Gracie Hunt

The daughter and oldest child of Chiefs owner Clark, Gracie is a former Miss Kansas and has become a fixture at Chiefs games, often seen watching with Swift.

Olivia Culpo

A former Miss Universe, Culpo is now a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and is engaged to McCaffrey.

Claire Kittle

George’s wife, they have been together since they started dating in college at Iowa. She is often seen rocking glam outfits at 49ers games.

Kristin Juszczyk

Kyle’s wife recently scored a licensing deal with the NFL after designing a custom Kelce-themed jacket for Swift.

Sydney Hightower

Warner’s wife is 35 weeks pregnant, but has been cleared to travel to and attend the Super Bowl.

Entertainment

Usher

The halftime show performer and hip hop titan confirmed there will be a few special guests. More popular in the 2000s and 2010s, Usher, who has won eight Grammy awards, still has a huge fanbase.

Reba McEntire

The country singer and actress, dubbed the “Queen of Country,” will sing the national anthem. She’s won three Grammys.

Post Malone

The hip hop star, who has said he will be rooting for the Chiefs, will perform “America the Beautiful” prior to the game.

Andra Day

Miscellaneous

Bill Vinovich

If fans are forced to learn his name, it likely means there was a blown call at some point — Vinovich will be the head referee. He was notably also the head ref four years ago when the two teams clashed in the Super Bowl.

John Lynch

The former Hall of Fame safety has become one of the NFL’s best general managers since taking over in 2017, building the 49ers into perennial contenders.

Jerry Rice

Widely considered the best wide receiver ever, Rice won three Super Bowls with the 49ers and is expected to be in attendance Sunday.

Joe Montana

One of the best quarterbacks ever, Montana won four Super Bowls with the 49ers and also played with the Chiefs. Like Rice, he’s expected to be in attendance.

Clark Hunt

The Chiefs owner inherited the team from the legendary Lamar, who founded the franchise, and is the chairman of Hunt Sports Group.

Rob Gronkowski

The legendary former Patriots tight end is out for revenge. After missing FanDuel’s “Kick of Destiny” during a commercial last year, he’s returning for the challenge again and will be kicking another 25-yard field goal when the sportsbook’s commercial airs this year. Viewers can make a free bet on whether Gronkowski makes or misses the kick.

Roger Goodell

The NFL commissioner may constantly be under criticism for the league’s ample controversies, but he has the league reaching historic marks in viewership and revenue.

Martin Scorsese

One of the best movie directors ever — notably for “Goodfellas” and “Raging Bull” among others — will star in a commercial for Squarespace.
