Powerlifter catches alleged neighborhood creep after residents spent months worrying about being watched

A powerlifter has stopped an alleged peeping Tom after residents spent months worried they were being watched.

Australian Tim Nickson had been made aware of the man, who became known as the Creekwood Ave Creeper, about six months ago after he allegedly walked into his house.

Nickson said neighbors had also claimed to have caught the man sneaking around and peering into windows after dark on home security cameras.

“I see him and I’m like holy crap, he was in my house … and the exact same night he was back,” Mr Nickson told A Current Affair on Wednesday.

“I went out my door to put laundry on the clothes line and he’s just standing there looking at me.

“And he was also too quick again, he just jumped the fence.

“Police told me we can’t get him, we can’t ID him, you have to do something about it.

“And as harsh at that sounds they’re right, man, you have to step up, you have to protect your family and you’ve got to serve your community, right?”

Mr Nickson decided to install motion security lights and fence spikes in an effort to protect his home.

His efforts proved successful when the man again returned to the home last Friday to allegedly peer through the window.

“I see this guy creeping in the window and I just think to myself, ‘Man, I’ve been hunting this guy for months, I’m not gonna let him escape tonight’,” Mr. Nickson said.

“And I just scream at him, ‘You bastard, I’m gonna catch you’.”

Nickson said he ran after the man, down the street before he caught up to him.

“I grab him by the shirt and I slam him to the ground and I say to him, ‘This is a citizen’s arrest’,” Mr Nickson said.

Police have since charged the 28-year-old man with trespassing.
