‘Unruly’ passenger forces emergency landing in Serbia over in-flight fight

Wild video captured the moment an “unruly” man on a flight from the UK to Turkey began yelling at another passenger – forcing the plane to divert to Turkey.

The SunExpress plane left Manchester Airport about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on a flight to Dalaman, Turkey, but a disturbance erupted when the man began swearing at the other passenger, the Manchester Evening News reported.

Video and images circulating on social media show him pointing at the other person.

An “unruly” passenger aboard a SunExpress flight from the UK to Turkey is seen yelling and pointing at a fellow traveler, forcing an emergency landing in Serbia.
The flight from Manchester to Dalaman diverted over 700 miles because of the altercation.

The altercation soon escalated and the shouting became louder, prompting the pilot to divert over 700 miles away to Belgrade, Serbia, where police rushed into the cabin and pulled the man out.

“Our flight XQ505, which was scheduled from Manchester to Dalaman on 9th April, had to divert to Belgrade due to an unruly passenger,” a SunExpress spokesperson said in a statement.

A flight attendant is seen holding what appear to be restraints.

“Upon arrival, the passenger was removed from the aircraft by local police and the aircraft continued to Dalaman after the passenger’s disembarkation,” the rep said.

“The safety and security of our passengers and crew is of the highest priority to SunExpress,” added the statement by the Turkish-German airline based in Antalya.
