Dave Portnoy upset he wasn’t invited to Tom Brady roast with other Barstool employees there

Dave Portnoy found out he wasn’t as good of friends with Tom Brady as he thought after he didn’t score an invite to the star-studded roast of Tom Brady.

“I thought I was a little bit of a bigger star than I am. Clearly, I overestimated myself,” Portnoy said on Barstool Sports’ “BFFs” Podcast. “Everyone in the sun made it to that event; I didn’t even get a ‘Hey, we’re doing it.’

“You know how I saw it?” Portnoy asked. “I went on Netflix to find a movie, and then I just took it in. No idea it was coming.”

Portnoy’s absence was noticeable as UFC President Dana White was in attendance, saying he flew in for it, while Bill Simmons also mentioned that he was invited but chose not to attend the event.

Meanwhile, Portnoy’s podcasting co-hosts, Josh Richards and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia, also were invited to the event with at least LaPaglia attending.

Barstool personalities John Feitelberg, known as Feits, and Grace O’Malley were also in attendance at the event.

“Why would Netflix invite you over me? No offense to anyone basically in the world,” Portnoy exclaimed. “No one even told it was f–king happening.

“Outside of the fact that half my company was there and got invited, apparently, except me, which is strange because I went to jail with him. I’ve met him, I’ve been to the parties. Our entire company was based around the Patriots’ reign. I was there when he came back with Tampa Bay, a lot of other things, but other than that it was great.

“Brady, Belichick, Portnoy, not anymore.”

Portnoy has a long history as a Patriots fan and a checkered history with the NFL.

During the controversial Deflategate investigation, Portnoy, along with some cohorts, staged a protest at the NFL’s headquarters.

Portnoy was later thrown out of Super Bowl LIII in 2019 when the Patriots defeated the Rams 13-3.

At the roast, Brady appeared to admit his role in Deflategate, mocking Roger Goodell for spending $20 million on the investigation.

“You could have just given me the $20 million, and I would have just told you that I f–king did it,” Brady said.

The no-holds-barred event was a who’s who of Portnoy-less celebrity power that wound up being a rousing success for Netflix, which produced the show live and invited tons of familiar faces for the event.
