Quick hitters and waiver wire advice for a handful of notable players after Week 9 of the fantasy football season:
Put on the side
Kyren Williams RB, Rams
Coach Sean McVay has promised “changes.” The run game has been awful, so that certainly could be one. Can stash him on the back of your roster for when the rookie is activated after dealing with an ankle issue.
Jeff Wilson Jr. RB, Dolphins
Had more touches than “starter” Raheem Mostert. Rather than a new handcuff, he looks like an equal member of a committee. Imagine, the rest of the way, he should be what we thought Chase Edmonds was going to be.
Cole Kmet TE, Bears
Has three TDs in the past two weeks. Makes sense that the newfound Bears passing game could benefit a pass catcher.
Cade Otton TE, Buccaneers
If they’re going to him in crunch time at the goal line with the game on the line, there is a degree of confidence that could signal more targets in the future.
Throw them aside
Aaron Rodgers QB, Packers
For a bit, we were holding out hope Rodgers would will his way to whipping his young WR group into shape. But that hasn’t happened, and they also have trouble staying on the field. OK to drop him, and definitely don’t start him.
Justin Herbert QB, Chargers
A bit more low-key, Herbert hasn’t reached 20 fantasy points since Week 4 and has 15 or fewer in four of his past five games.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire RB, Chiefs
He is in a three-man committee. We know CEH’s and Jerick McKinnon’s limitations. If we want one of these three on our roster, it is rookie Isiah Pacheco.
Michael Pittman Jr. WR, Colts
Has scored 15 or fewer in PPR in five of his past six games, and hasn’t found the end zone since Week 1. Not expecting much improvement with Sam Ehlinger at QB.
